Bartolome Maso, Granma Bartolome MasoBartolomé Masó name was given to the old sugar factory Estrada Palm, built in 1924 in the region, of there the current denomination of that municipality of the county of Granma. According to historians, the change was made in relief to Masó, patriot that fought in the three wars independentistas of the XIX century whose postulation to candidate for president of the Republic, in the first elections, it was vetoed by the government North American inspector, to favor Estrada Palm (Tomás). Although no frills, they're perfectly clean and appealing and, for those who can't abide no TVs, there're satellite TV (with fuzzy reception). The rustic thatched restaurant is a tremendous spot beside the river; it has cowhide chairs and farmhouse decor and serves traditional Cuban dishes (when available) and (more reliably) the usual staples, such as friend chicken.
