Hotel Islazul Camaguey

Hotel Islazul Camaguey

Built in the 1970?s and located 12 km. away from Ignacio Agramonte International Airport (a 15 minute drive approximately) on the central highway and 4 km away from downtown Camaguey (a 5 minute drive).

Hotel Camaguey has a restaurant, grill bar, snack bar, pool bar, lobby bar, cafeteria, 24 hour room service, motorbike rental, swimming pool with children?s area, medical services, shops, currency exchange, safety deposit box, national and international telephone, taxi, post office, fax, board game room.

Display of local ceramic sculptures. Next door, Camaguey?s cabaret nightclub, Centro Nocturno Tradicuba puts on a nightly show. Hunting trips offered to Laguna Porvenir and other game reserves.

Hotel Islazul Gran Hotel

Hotel Islazul Gran Hotel

Considered Camag?ey's premium hotel, this colonial-style option enjoys a steps-to-everywhere location on a pedestrian precinct in the heart of the historic district. Despite its 19th-century styling, it actually dates back only to 1939. We much prefer the more intimate charm of the Hotel Islazul Col?n, but this is a generally satisfying alternative with a slightly preferential location. The place abounds in glossy hardwoods and contemporary clay ceramics.

It's main selling points are the swimming pool in a cozy courtyard to the rear; and the elegant top-floor with great city views and surprisingly good fare, including great value buffets. The streetside caf?, however, usually disappoints. This is one of the liveliest hotels around thanks to two bars (one a gloomy cocktail lounge where the Rat Pack might have felt at home), and the cabaret-style water-ballets put on in the pool.

The 72 air-conditioned, high-ceilinged rooms meet most requirements, being clean and recently refitted with modern accouterments, including satellite TV, phones.
